Valerio Vidali III
I found Gianni Rodari's 'Novelle Fatte a Macchina' with illustrations by Valerio Vidali at the Mambo book shop. I love Valerio's illustrations and in this novel, I really liked her use of crumpled paper for the crushed car and her use of quite large black shapes in her compositions is interesting in that it both anchors the pictures and creates an unsettling element.

Valerio Vidali II
Collaged on old sheet music Valerio Vidali's elephant looks like he is waiting for the sun to come out and the music tree to sing.
Have a great weekend, I hope the sun is out and the trees are singing.

Valerio Vidali
Valerio Vidali is a wonderful illustrator born in Italy who trained in illustration in Milan, his work is amazingly diverse, subtle, intelligent and beautiful. His work is dream like where fish can have wings or legs or fins and swimming in the water and air.
