Francesca's delicate illustrations are alive with detail and observation and have an almost Japanese quality, like wandering through a bamboo forest.

The first joy I have found is 'The Great Battle' by Andrea Antinori with wonderfully sparse expressive illustrations in the limited palette of black, yellow and blue and a great graphic play of the line and shade.

Carlos Marchiori I

A heart bursting with love, here are some wonderfully romantic illustrations from Italian artist, Carlos Marchiori (born 1939) from the book 'Sally go round the Sun' by Edith Fowke published in Canada in 1969.
Carlos had trained in art and design at Padua and Venice , he emigrated to Canada in 1956 and has since settled in California where he has worked as an artist and muralist.
