Pigeon Post

My last (I think!) mail art for Paul Smith
This time I wanted to make a textile parcel, because when we were travelling around India over 20 years ago, we sent some parcels home and they were sewn into a calico wrap with wax seals and they looked magical.
So I have made another pigeon this time in calico, I wanted to include some pigeon food, so I made pigeon eggs from rice paper and stuffed them with corn. I had to pack the pigeon with bubble wrap to try protect the eggs.

More pigeons made today, ready to fly to Paul Smith's new shop in London, Freya insisted we make Tufty a pigeon we met in Florence at Easter.
