Insects as Pets
Today I started thinking about Devil's coach horse beetles. I have only ever seen one and I was amazed by it, it's size and just the fact I hadn't seen one before. This thought led to me thinking about who would have a Devil's coach horse beetle as a pet and how of course it would have to be an undertaker.
Then I thought about what kind of insect pet a gardener would have and came up with these two. I like the ladybirds expression and high heels. My last pet of the day was a skater and I thought a slatter (woodlouse) would be best match as I could imagine all those little legs kicking off.

Morteza Zahedi V
| These delicate surreal ladies by Morteza Zahedi remind me of lacewings and the tiny, fleeting miracles of life that accompany summer. Perfect to celebrate the coming of summer and to wish a very Happy Birthday to their creator. |

Summer time I . . .
Summer time is ebbing into autumn and the bees and hover flies are all in a rush, they don't really notice me as they busy themselves around the buddleia and the rocket flowers.
Though they don't notice me, I seem to have spent my whole weekend watching and photographing them and a joy it has been.

Star crossed legs
I found this crane fly with its star crossed legs and wanted to use it for a picture. So before it blows away on the whirl wind of life, I am drawing it. Have a great weekend.
Morteza Zahedi III

Damien Loche-Pelissier

Damien Loche-Pelissier describes himself as an 'entomologist of the imagination' Damien takes tiny pieces of the flotsam and jetsam of nature and reincarnates them as insects. His installations are disturbing, even to a nature lover like me, as the space teams with insects of all shapes and sizes.

Freya's Spontaneous Exhibition

A shed is a great place for an insect exhibition, I think Freya liked Clementine's work as much as I did.
