Amin Akbari I

Today I am exploring the surreal world of young Iranian illustrator Amin Akbari who's work is mainly produced in coloured pen in a style that is very doodle like and of a contemporary zine and sketchbook style.
"I started drawing little pictures in my notebooks. They made me happy when looking at them and made up for the empty place of things that I missed." Amin Akbari

Štěpán Lubomír

I love these graphical illustrations by Czechoslovakian illustrator Štěpán Lubomír and I thought that they follow on beautifully from Alison Worman's work.
They are from the book " Home work from the Czech Language" published in 1965.

Sue Doeksen

This spread from 'Cheerful in 3,5 months'  a book by Gerard Jansen illustrated  by Sue Doeksen's has really inspired me this weekend. Of course it is that winning combination for me of pink and red, and the simplicity and fun. This page is recommending that you 'swim under water with your eyes open'.

Joe Kievitt

I saw Joe Kievitt's work and though it was quilt making, but they are not Joe's works are made with pen and paper and are explorations in geometry. (thanks)

Florencio Zavala

I find names that I have hurriedly scribbled on scraps of paper, everywhere, they drift in gangs around my house. One such piece presented itself to me this morning, I'm glad because I adore the top image of Florencio's. http://www.brownlikeme.com
