Ceramics by Ayalin King
These stylish vessels are by Ayalin King, who has just graduated from Glasgow School of Art. It is sad that so many Scottish Art Colleges have abandoned Ceramics, I hope this trend doesn't continue I feel that it is a valuable discipline that we should treasure. I was disappointed that Edinburgh College of Art have abandoned their Tapestry course, true not many of the tapestry students produced tapestries but it gave them something to rebel against and it was a wonderfully eclectic and creative course.

Nora Reid
I admired this crow at the Glasgow Degree show, but I am nervous snapping at other peoples work and nerves got the better of me here. However (fantastic) Nora contacted me with her blog she has some beautiful line pictures of Scottish harbours and other treasures but I love her beady eyed Crow. Phillip Ritchie
A map of Britain constructed from headlines of local newspapers, by Phillip Ritchie. I loved this because I used to be a press cutter many moons ago and I had to read all of those local papers and their funny, tragic and disturbing headlines. It is very clever and thought provoking piece of work that also has the appeal of an ancient map.
