Elis Wilk II

I love the joyful, playful quality of Elis Wilk's illustrations, but this is not always her style, her photo collages are very sophisticated and adult in their sensibilities. Elis produces many magazine and news illustrations as well as children's books so please explore her portfolio.

"I really appreciate the art of children as well, because they produce very strong and instinctive visuals.” Says Elis, “When I create an illustration, I try to mix the intellectual-conceptual approach I learned through education with a more unconscious, spontaneous way of working to evoke that strong, instinctual response.” Elis Wilk

Elis Wilk I

I have selected the top illustration by French illustrator Elis Wilk for today, because it features a dove/ pigeon.

For the past 10 days, I have been hand rearing a chick (see bottom picture) however yesterday I had to hand it over to the RSPCA for the rest of its care.
I miss it terribly. It is one of life's rare treats to be able save a creatures life and then release it into the wild. Unfortunately this time I could not complete this, mainly because I was scared the cat would get it, but also because of other commitments.
However it certainly bought us a lot of joy and I hope I set it well on the way to having a good healthy life.
