I have selected the top illustration by French illustrator Elis Wilk for today, because it features a dove/ pigeon.
For the past 10 days, I have been hand rearing a chick (see bottom picture) however yesterday I had to hand it over to the RSPCA for the rest of its care.
I miss it terribly. It is one of life's rare treats to be able save a creatures life and then release it into the wild. Unfortunately this time I could not complete this, mainly because I was scared the cat would get it, but also because of other commitments.
However it certainly bought us a lot of joy and I hope I set it well on the way to having a good healthy life.
Wonderful carrier pigeons by Russian artist Olga Wassupbrothers, the carrier pigeons have been to mine this week and so I have two surprise parcels waiting for the weekend, I can not wait!

The pigeons near us are falling in love again and though we are probably still in the grips of winter this is one of the signs that spring is on its way. This knitted pigeon by various projects is just wonderful. (Thanks)

Excuse my dirty windows . . . I think a pigeon has had a bad collision with Finlay's window today, with amazing results.
