My favourite thing is to work with other artists and creators.
Currently I am modeling for costume student Emily Bates at ECA, this is giving me great insight into the methodology and commitment of practitioners in this area and it is great to watch her designs evolve.
I also have also managed a second photo shoot with Laurence Winram.
It is great just to spend time with other creative people, to watch them at work and be part of their process. Laurence is currently creating a series using silhouette and double exposure.

Being a canvas for Motley Collective
Being a canvas is not easy, but it is fun being part of the experimental work of two great creatives Annalies Maria Phyllis and Sabrina Shirazi.
Acrylic paint does not enhance the youthfulness of skin, stretching, splitting and creating an effect just like premature aging.
The possibilities thrown up by experimentation provided so many opportunities and developments to explore that I cannot wait, to see what the Motley Collective do next.

Daniel Bruton
I still have some things to hare from DJCAD the Dundee degree show. This is the work of Daniel Bruton who made this wild looking costume, that reminded me of the Burry man, except that this is made from cardboard scales. Daniel was then filmed propelling himself at a ramp in a decorated shopping trolley (the ramp was at the wrong angle and you do not get to see what I can only think would be a painful result).

Femke Agema

Femke Agema Boogieman made a this costume for new music festival in Amsterdam Westerpark. Commissioned by Bas Koopmans for Festina Lente Media. It has the spirit of the project that I am doing with my fashion students today. Femke Agema is a Dutch fashion designer who's work explodes out from fashion into art, sculpture, installation and performance, she has some incredible ideas and works.

Riitta Ikonen,

Riitta Ikonen is a Finish artist currently living in London. Riitta creates costumes, these then become instances of performance art, environmental art and photography projects.
"My work is concerned with the performance of images through photography and costume design . . . in my costumes tremendous things happen- to me and to the people I work with"
Riitta's work is concerned with ecology, climate and the bigger picture of planet health. All of the images I have included are from a project called 'Snowflake'. For a wonderful interview with this artist go here.
