Malgorzata Lazarek

By now you probably realise that I am in bird cage mode, so I was delighted when I found these works by Polish artist Malgorzata Lazarek. Her art can be very serious and reminds me of Amanda Blake's works or they can be very humorous, irreverent and cartoon like.

Molly Hatch I

When I first saw these slab built, birdhouse containers by Molly Hatch at Anthropology it was love. They are so delicately illustrated, and such a wonderful idea.

Yusuke Maruyama

I found these beautiful metal sculptures at a Japanese gallery when I was searching for something else they make me think of summer holidays, in caravans and cottages. Unfortunately I cannot find anything else out about the artist. if you can please let me know. http://www.seikado.jp/exhibition

Joff's House

Joff's house isn't finished yet, but I wanted to share some of its beautiful structure with you.

The talent and craftsmanship is so intense, its almost from a bygone age, when people had pride in their work and the skills to match. I love the way he has thought about how his house could provide a habitat for other creatures, and has included bird and bat boxes in the eve's.

For all of you who have bird houses cluttering your houses, this is to remind you to go hang them up. A wonderful project where dictators houses are made habitable by birds, it is a collaboration between the artists Bruce Gilchrist and Sandra Drew.
