Nick Gentry's social art from the obsolete takes ever day objects that have formed part of our physical histories and transforms them into contemporary portraits. This series is painted floppy discs, it is very like graffiti and has the appeal of  contemporary commercial illustration.

A M Victoria Ladefoged

Fashion designer and artist A M Victoria Ladefoged made these wonderful dancing figures from wood and metal for 'trash:Formed' at the Danish Museum for Art and Design in 2009. These were exhibited as part of a group exhibition of Re:Something a design group set up by A M Victoria Ladefoged.

Remember toilet rolls? Well until March 31st 2011, you can make a mask and submit it to the judgement of Mr Spoqui's discerning eye. Today despite Freya being unwell, we rose to the challenge and it was such fun! More challenges please Mr Spoqui. Thanks as ever to Deb for spreading the news. Oh! forgot to say we used the paper that they wrap bananas in in their boxes.

Joe Crabtree of Rawbone Studio

Marchi Wierson

Stunning recycled blankets made into beautiful scarfs, Marchi has a shop selling these and textile jewelry. Marchi also has a great blog especially for those who love textiles and fibre arts.

Hannah Lobley makes these wonderfully finished products from compressed paper, returning paper to the density of wood.

Bombus design

Bombus design uses maps, magazines etc to create decoupage images, upcycled stationary and bespoke furniture. Amelia (Bombus) trained in textiles and weave, and worked commercially designing fabrics but has returned to hand crafting to commission.
