Mark Demsteader

Mark Demsteader is one of the most popular and influential figurative artists in Britain today, Mark's drawings have a sensitivity and an unfinished quality that make them powerful, enigmatic and stunning. Most recently Mark has been involved in producing a series of portraits of Emma Watson.

管子天

Today I have been gripped by the photography of  管子天 a Chinese photographer and film maker from Beijing. He has a small series of portraits featuring hands towards the end of his photostream and the rest of this portfolio has lots of treasure and a wonderful humanity.

Claire Loder

Claire Loder posted this gem of a portrait today, at first glance I fell in love,  I thought the lips were goldfish. It is one of Claire's development ideas for 'lippy' you can see more here.

Ann Marshall

Ann Marshall's portraits have haunting realism, with interesting use of pattern and decoration in the setting and on the figure, be it clothing or tattoo's. Ann's figures melt into the composition like they are suspended in water, with a ghost like translucence that allows the blending of background with figure.
