Today has an early start because it is Burry Man Day and I am going to spend part of the day following him on his path around the town of South Queensferry.
This is the second year for Andrew Taylor to be the Burry man and I am interested to meet his incarnation of this ancient folk hero.
I wish him the best of luck for what can only be described as an amazing feat of stamina humour and good will.
It was with great happiness that I found Claire Loder's interpretation of the Burry Man a few months ago.
I do hope that one day she comes to Scotland to meet him and that I can meet her, as I love her work.
Eric Formoe is a Norwegian painter who paints faces, his style is loose and reminds me of monoprinting with some portraits having pattern and others formed by thin glazes of translucent bright slabs of colour. Because of Eric's concentration on portraits and character his work also seems the perfect compliment to Claire Loders ceramic heads, now that would be a great exhibition. (

I like Claire Loder she likes birds and hairy bits on her ceramics. These false eyelashes are fantastic, scarey, funny and wild. I've had a bit of a false eyelash winter, as I bought a few special people sets for Christmas, I find them facinating but I've never worn them.
