More work on portraiture and identity with my students yesterday meant that we watched an amazing film. Then we started to consider the self portrait as a reflection of self, more than just the arrangement of features and appearance of the face. A great example of this is the work of French artist Charlotte Caron who's degree show combined portraiture photography with painted animal heads to create unique portraits. (thanks)
