Dutch gilt papers

Here are some examples of gloriously decadent 18th century Dutch gilt paper or brocade paper. It is created using a relief print process using gold or metal leaf instead of inks.  Dutch Gilt was widely used in the 17th or 18th centuries, though the name 'Dutch' is a misnomer: as these papers were produced in southern Germany, and northern Italy, then exported to Britain via the Netherlands.
