These strange black and white images from Spirit of the wood by Kseniia Korotkova with their bold dashes and shapes are unique, like russian dolls they have images and meaning hidden within them like Maori tattoos or other ancient forms of storytelling. They are challenging almost uncomfortable as the viewer tries to read them.
Finding the illustrations above lead me to Kseniia's illustration for 'The Old Man and The Sea', lovely interesting bold works.
