Getting animated

It is coming to the end of the academic year and I am going to be sad to say goodbye to everyone as they go off and continue their studies elsewhere.
As a goodbye project it was decided that we would make an animation. We thought that sea creatures would be most appropriate as we have had a marine themed painting project, here are some of the results.
Now for many hours of editing to put it all together and add the terrible noise/singing we produced as the sound track.

Cameron Orr

"My work is primarily concerned with notions of mystery and the unknown. Through working as intuitively as possible in various mediums, I navigate paranormal ideologies and metaphysical theories in a process which is far more of an exploration than it is an investigation. I am fascinated by the concept of incomprehension and so choose to engage purposefully in subjects to which we have no answers. Themes such as mysticism, the paranormal, metaphysics, dualism, folklore, the altered"
Cameron Orr has just graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone in fine art, though it is sculptural and illustrational, like so many artists he moves fluently across genres.

Irma Gruenholz Plasticine Illustration

Above: Ogre, Below: NightThese magical illustrations are rendered in plasticine by Madrid based artist Irma Gruenholz, they would of course make amazing animations, but I love the fact that they are a suspended second in time. The Moon in nights lamp is gorgeous.

Plasticine Figures In Hanoi

This Photograph is from Matteo DT's photostream on Flickr, it always amazes me the way that different cultures render different materials, these are so delicate and intricate.

James May's Plasticine Garden

The gardeners are upset, but this gardener and artist loves the anarchic art event that is James May's Chelsea garden. I can't wait for Chelsea to open so I can get a good look at its garish wonder of two and a half tonnes of plasticine. I love the way it has been a creative endeavour with artists, children and viewers of James May's toy programme requested to contribute.
