Ri Tori III

Love this snow sprinkling moon man by Ri Tori perfect characterisation of the magic of Christmas Eve and the characters that you imagine constructing magical mischief.

Ri Tori II

Ri Tori concludes today's collection of Christmas creatures with a fab seagull . . . I wonder if my pet seagull will bring a present this Christmas.

Homes for fears is another project by Ri Tori and Zilasaule whose Holey plates book I featured yesterday. I love the idea behind this where you create a new home for your fears so that they can leave you and strike out alone, allowing your mind and body to be a happier place.
The mix of very sophisticated imagery with scribbles doodles and photo collage is very engaging.

Holey Plates

Holey Plates is a collaborative book project by Ri Tori and  Zilasaule an illustrated book of food, imagination and drawing. Where food and ingredients become lands, clothing, flora and fauna.

"It is not at all about cooking or methods of drawings. It is about senses. What is a taste? What is a line and color? What does it really mean? Coud we draw a taste? Is it possible to draw a taste of salted potatoes or a taste of the white color?"

This is a wild book with illustrations and text spilling across the page to grab your attention and lead you on a journey of discovery and wonder. Each time you revisit the wonderful spreads, you encounter details you didn't see before hidden in the photo collages and tiny doodles.
