Esme Shapiro III

This image by Esme Shapiro of three ladies has always struck me as being three flowering bulbs waiting patiently for spring, funny how an image can be wrongly (or rightly) interpreted. I am keeping with my original misreading.
Spring is on it's way at last here the days are lengthening and the birds are beginning to sing and the bulbs are brimming with flowers making ready to burst and welcome the spring sunshine.

I like the translucent layering of recent graduate Esme Shapiro's works and the solid details that she includes in her illustrations. The variety of density and line is delicate and beautiful. Esme likes foliage and creates it in abundance and wonderful variety it is the pattern in her work.
