Cliff Roberts I

 

Thomas written by Mary Harris and illustrated by Cliff Roberts, published 1956. Thomas is such a beautiful book surely it is time for a reprint? The wonderful limited palette and elegance is astounding pus the use of the page and the gutter, and look at that word count!!!! The perfect picture book!

Cliff Roberts (1929-1999) was a cartoonist and animator. His cartoons appeared in magazines such as The New Yorker and Playboy he wrote and drew the short-lived Sesame Street newspaper comic strip, and also worked as an animator on Sesame Street, The Smurfs, and The Pink Panther.
