Adrian Gauci

Adrian Gauci's MA show introduced us to 'Notable Cutlery Through Time and Space' a history of mankind through it's cutlery.

'Notable Cutlery through Time and Space is a curated inventory of the most fascinating cutlery possessed by the members of the Society for Cutlery Appreciation. Commemorating their four hundred years of existence, the society holds some of the best wonders of forks, knives and spoons from around the world.
Conceived by the venerable Mr Gauci, in this compendium we delve into the world of cutlery, where each piece exhibits the successes and sometimes failures of mankind from the past to the future. Art, punishment, discoveries, failed attempts – these are just some of the subjects embodied in cutlery which we fix our gaze upon and discuss in this study. Stop trying to learn how to wield cutlery, and instead learn why you wield it.' 

Olym Lee

This is Olym Lee's MA graduation project Big Rabbit and Little Rabbit a book to encourage children to overcome their fears. I particularly liked Olym's wild animals and her work both with the waters reflections and under water scenes.

Min-I, Yen

These gentle illustrations for 'The Best Place In The World' by Min-I, Yen  remind me of the illustrations by Koso Kakimoto for Mr Bear books by Chizuko Kuratomi. It is a lovely story about a friendship between a sun bear and a polar bear forged in a zoo, that continues when the polar bear is returned to his polar home.

Min I Yen has just graduated with an MA in illustration from Brighton University.

Baozi Chen

Baozi Chen has created a kind of autobiographical 'Alice in Wonderland' about finding her place in the world called 'Run' and it is full of wonder and surprise. Clever thoughts and illustrations to make you smile and gasp. These are some of the images from her MA in Sequential Design / Illustration  at the University of Brighton MA show which finishes today.

Dagmara Rudkin II
