'The Easter Egg Artists' Pub. 1976 by Adrienne Adams. Adrienne (1906-2002) was born in Arkansas and initially studied art at Stephens College, Missouri. She moved to New York aged 23 to study at the American School of Design. On graduating she became a designer of displays, murals, textiles, greeting cards. In 1935 she married the author John Lonzo Anderson a children's book author, her first illustrated children's book was John's story 'A Bag of Smoke' in 1942. Adrienne illustrated over 30 books and was recognized with honors from Caldecott in 1960 and 1962. In 1973 she was awarded the Rutgers Award for overall contributions to children's literature.
