I saw this technique a week or so ago when Moira Frith had taken a workshop with Louise Lockhart and really wanted to try it.
You need a tube of tomato puree, scissors, wooden spoon, newspaper, and biro. I squeeze the paste into a jar, cut off both ends of the tube and wash and dry it. Then using the back of a wooden spoon on the printed side of metal, flatten out any kinks and creases.
Place on a newspaper and draw a design using a biro to emboss the surface, you can draw onto either side, it gives a different effect.
Once you have made your design cut it out, be careful the edges are sharp. If you want to hang it up then pierce and thread it.
Clare Youngs just posted some similar foil ornaments on her IG with a link to a tutorial on her webpage. She uses Craft foil (similar) and has had spectacular results! Check it out!
