Camilla Watson

While I was in Lisbon I stayed in the Bairro Alto where there is one of the most impressively touching, personal and personable exhibitions of art ever! For displayed along the streets, are beautiful portraits of the people of the neighborhood, particularly the older residents. There are photographs of them at their doors, their windows and hangouts about their daily business, capturing their essence and humanity. The photographs called 'A Tribute', are by photographer Camilla Watson who fell in love with the area and then became a resident herself.

"I am interested in people, communities  - and their history. How can we keep a communities history alive? How can we hold onto their memories in rapidly changing environments?" Camilla Watson.
