Innovative Learning II

Kasia Matyjaszek introduced Friday's class through the gift of an envelope, containing a few random scraps of coloured paper. These you were to arrange and take a picture of, before selecting one of three compositions to create a character from.

What was great about this exercise was how quickly you can compose a character and then formulate its identity and actions.

Stories grew on the page as the characters grew, with Kasia throwing into the mix surprise gifts of odd pieces of collage paper and Janis MacKay stretching our minds in other ways through the music and poetry of words.

My character evolved into Ida the Ibis who was struggling to lay an egg, and in her pursuit of this goal was earnestly exercising.
