Yuko Hosaka I

Yuko Hosaka is a Japanese illustrator and printmaker. Her image of the woman in the bird is so iconic and beautiful, that I was surprised at how difficult it is to find very much information about this artist.

  1. Yes! The woman flying with the bird is a gorgeous image but I love the happy cat with fish! I know I don't comment often but wanted to add what joy your blog brings to my life.

I like the idea of the motive of the bird fused with the a spirit of femininity. It is as you say an iconic image

    1. It is Jan, Thank you for your message. Unfortunately on my web travels I have seen a lot of appropriation of the images by other people.

    2. this is sad... I'm learning to appreciate painting and art in general, and I can see how people appropriate items, even by omitting the author's name. I seem to "b*tch" a lot about it and many don't like it, but can't stand it how the web allows egos to soar. I know I sound boring and preaching, but I am aware people should be at least, be acknowledged for their creativity.
