Komako Sakai II

I have already suggested that Komako Sakia's style reminds me of German artist Paula Modersohn Becker. Strangely Komako's darker drawings remind me of  another German artistst work, Kaethe Kollwitz, they are more powerful and emotionally charged than most children's illustration.

  1. Beautiful drawing and I very much like the black ground showing through. If these are illustrations for children I don't think they would see them as sinister as adults would.
