Damian Aquiles is a Cuban artist who in this series has used old cans as a canvas. 

"I like to work with used materials, for the concentrated energy that emanates from them, they have a lot of light. I don't work with trash, but with last life.
Those materials have a previous history. My art pieces concentrate on that energy. I continue it's life by recycling it, by using it's previous life, energy, and history to tell my own story." Damian Aquiles

The more I look at this ladies work the more wonderful things there are to find and see.

I started by wanting to share the construction chair above but then found more and more. Jullienne uses reclaimed materials and apart from beautiful furniture has also made some fantastic public art.

After all these wonderful feminine delicate offerings I feel the need to show you something a little more macho and no its not manihose again!

This project is by dARCH Studio for fashion showroom 'Yeshop In House' in Athens Greece I love the softness of the lines, the concept and the materials. It creates a warm (insulated) organic environment.

Wu Yulu is my hero

When I first saw the farmer 'who grows robots', on Paul Merton's programme about China, I fell in love, they are wonderful.

All of Wu Yulu's robots are named after him and he calls them his children. He started making robots from scraps of machinery, and he now seems able to make robots of all sizes and designs with the capasity to do any task imaginable.

They are beautiful art objects, they are amazing technology and yet all the reports you find about this genius Wu Yulu are that he is desperate and starving with a forever grumbling wife, why has his talent not been seized upon?

Theo Jansen I

Theo Jansen http://www.strandbeest.com/index.html has long been a hero of mine, ever since I first saw his amazing creatures in a Sunday supplement. He is an artist, sculptor/ inventor, who has since 1990 been involved with the creation and evolution of a whole genus of self propelled beasts. Many of these 'creatures' have been designed to roam the beeches of the Netherlands independently. Some can store wind power others have evolved sensitivity to water and can move away from the incoming tide.

His creations are phenomenal and fill you with childlike wonder and awe. have a look, experience being a child again...

Lighting By Gilles Eichenbaum

This is to introduce you to my coffee pot lamp by the Paris based artist Gilles Eichenbaum.
I bought this lamp last spring and it still fills me with delight every time I see it.
You can find Gilles work at his shop Garbage at DaWanda he and his work seem to be going from strength to strength, and I wish him all the success he deserves.
