Victor Brauner I
I have a new love today and it is Victor Brauner 1903-1966. He was a Romanian artist who settled in France. Victor's work shows influences from the movements and artists of his time including Surrealism and Dadaism. Victor Brauners work has spiritualism and mythology and draws upon folk traditions of Tibet, Egypt, Mexico, Native North American art as well as the symbolism of tarot. I love these hybrid graphical works where animals, birds and man are blended into composite beings. “I am reminding you that all these animals are in you” (1962) Victor Brauner
