Being an artist . . .

I'm sorry I have abandoned you here for a while, I am super busy day and night getting work made for the Edinburgh Zine Festival 2024 which is being held at The Fruitmarket Gallery on February 10th and 11th excitingly along side the Artists Book Market which I have exhibited at before about five years ago. 

The works I am making require hours of research and sleuth like persistence traveling down internet wormholes to find information and images/ photographs. Then to format them into zines, and to that end I seem to be inventing new forms.  so this weeks wormholes have been; the chainsaw, predictions about telephones and pioneering traveling cats.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am going through a lot of trauma at the moment, but trying to keep building on sliding sand of it all. It has just been a hard year, and it is set to continue in this way for quite a while I fear. 

While life events are somewhat out of my hands but also all consuming, to keep happy I booked myself a place at Edinburgh Zine Festival, which will be hosted at The Edinburgh Fruitmarket Gallery on the 10th and 11th of February. 

With this goal in mind I have been making zines, lots of zines, some funny, some tragic, many historical. I hope to build on the variety and have the most awesome collection by next month. 

This project builds on the books and 'good newspapers' that I made during the hight of the pandemic and I just love finding stories to share and making mini zines and zine tins to hold them in. I hope to share more soon.
