Dan Badea III

Romanian artist Dan Badea tells stories in paint his work has an exciting range of marks and a narrative that make you laugh and wonder. For me these works have the dynamism and energy of Alice Kettles work that I featured yesterday and the domesticity and humanity of Robbie Bushe's work that I will be featuring tomorrow.

Dan Badea II

Dan Badea often paints tables and food, again they are full of detail and fun observation.
"I want to create more a poetical atmosphere like in the 'Flower woman' theme, nostalgia, a return to affection.
For me, the expressivity, the vibration, the light are really important. Also, in my painting, the detail has the same importance like the entire; many of my compositions are made by
modules and you can find different influences of culture like Dubuffet painting or Basquiat graffiti. " Dan Badea

Dan Badea I

Dan Badea's work has so many styles and genres, some works being very abstract, others more like graffiti with their inclusion of text, most are of domestic scenes and yet others remind me of illustration. These works are of shops and kiosks. I like their layers of observation and the detail and texture.
