Bernice Myers (1925-2021) published over 100 children's books with major publishers such as Harper & Row and Scholastic starting in 1949. These illustrations are from ''The Four Musicians' published in 1957.

Tammi S Keefe (1913-1960) designed textiles in the 1940s and 1950s, so her wonderful illustrations were mainly applied to household linens such as T-towels and handkerchiefs.

Remy Charlip I

Remy Charlip's; 'Where is Everybody?' Published 1957 a whole world created in black and yellow with line drawings. Remy Charlip (1929 – 2012) was a multi-talented American artist, writer, choreographer, theatre director, theatrical designer, and teacher. He wrote and illustrated more than forty children's books.

Adrienne Adams II

'The Easter Egg Artists' Pub. 1976 by Adrienne Adams. Adrienne (1906-2002) was born in Arkansas and initially studied art at Stephens College, Missouri. She moved to New York aged 23 to study at the American School of Design. On graduating she became a designer of displays, murals, textiles, greeting cards. In 1935 she married the author John Lonzo Anderson a children's book author, her first illustrated children's book was John's story 'A Bag of Smoke' in 1942. Adrienne illustrated over 30 books and was recognized with honors from Caldecott in 1960 and 1962. In 1973 she was awarded the Rutgers Award for overall contributions to children's literature. 

 

 'The Easter Egg Artists' is a wonderful book about growing up and satisfaction in a job well done and the rewards it can give. It has delicate illustrations in a pastel palette.
