"Many of the classic tales exhibit violence without sweetening it, as a power structure that organises the world. In Goosebumps, Perrault does not resort to allegory to talk about incest, but presents it as a political reality: the sovereign who turns his desire into a right and the stranger's body into territory. It portrays a logic of domination that, unfortunately, we have not overcome. The escape of the protagonist is not an escape from desire, but from the system that legitimises and imposes it.
