'Nine Days to Christmas 'A Story of Mexico''  co-authored by Aurora Labastida and co-authored and illustrated by Marie Hall Ets (1895-1984),  published in 1959, won the Caldecott medal for illustration 1960. In the story, Ceci anxiously awaits her first posada, the special Mexican Christmas party, and the opportunity to select a piñata for it.
