I know I am always saying about my favourite illustrators, I am quite consistent in my choices, but above it one of my absolute favourite illustrations of all time and it is by the genius André François. It makes me laugh to imagine a modern publishing house being presented with this book which is mainly in brown washes, and has a main protagonist that is a pipe smoking cat, but its energy and fun is compelling. I have posted about Tom and Tabby before in 2018 but this post has more of the delicious illustrations for you to enjoy.
