Snow Country's Fawn written by Makoto Oishi and illustrated by Yoshiharu Suzuki, what a wonderful sense of colour, composition and style this illustrator has. Yoshiharu Suzuki (1913-2002 ) was a Japanese illustrator born in Kanagawa .Known for his gentle touch using pencil and watercolors, he was active mainly in illustrating picture books and children's books. He received the 18th Shogakukan Art Award , the 11th Nippon Picture Book Award , and the 35th Sankei Children's Publishing Culture Award .
