Edward MacLachlan (1940–2024) wrote and illustrated Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings, which later became an animated TV series. Simon had a magic blackboard in a monochrome world, and everything that Simon drew on the chalkboard become real in the Land of Chalk Drawings, a brightly coloured world that Simon entered by climbing over a fence near his home with a ladder. I loved this series when I was a child so it was lovely to find one of the books today. In 'Simon and the Dinosaur' published in 1977, Simon has drawn a very large dinosaur egg.
In chalk land everyone has been eaten by the dinosaur and Simon is soon swallowed to.
Simon makes everyone blow and soon they make the dinosaur sneeze
