I have had a friend staying for a week, Katherine Stalder an artist from Switzerland and it has been wonderful to share some of the joys that are to be found near my home in Scotland. It has been fun to watch Katherine gather visually and physically inspirations along the way and then watch her assimilate new ideas, techniques and treasures. Katherine works with textiles, print, books and gathering impressions such as the iron cover's above. But she does so much more as well, a dynamo of an artist working to connect and communicate with artists around the world. From me she is traveling to Ireland and then walking the southern coast of England, I look forward to following her journey.
