For the winter solstice I am featuring a pomegranate illustration to celebrate the ancient Persian festival of Yalda which celebrates the triumph of light over darkness at the winter solstice, celebrated with pomegranates, watermelons, poetry and sacred rituals. The lovely llustration is by Sahar Haghgoo.
