Emily Unsworth White's paintings are a patchwork of pattern and colour, a kaleidoscope of observed textures and surfaces.
My work is based upon narrative, a memory, a moment. Through connecting lattices of pattern, conflicting borders and contrasting perspectives, I invite the viewer to contemplate their reality. Inspired by the great Expressionists I reflect on the curious way in which we have selected colours to bring into our homes, like birds making a colourful nest. Emily Unsworth White
