Tschlip '1971' by Fred Bauer is a German book about a bird escaping its owner and having some frightening adventures in the wild. The illustrations are beautiful, bright watercolours. Fred Bauer is a Swiss graphic designer born in 1928 famous for his woodcuts, posters, glass and children's books.

ReplyDeleteNow you have said it Elisabeth, I think it does look as though it is collaged. They remind me of Brian Wildsmith because of the vibrancy and pattern.
