Bill Sokol's 'Fable of Profitt The Fox', is a tale of a sly fox arriving in the forest and exchanging the creatures treasured possessions for false predictions and Dimitri the Owl and Moishe the cat call on the children for their help to foil this profiteering trickster. Published in 1964, it is the perfect fable of our time. The illustrations are all two colour layered compositions with interesting use of repeat and pattern.
