Today and tomorrow, I am featuring two older books that use line to create images in a unique way.
This is 'Always Room for One More' 1965 written by Sorche Nic Leodhas and illustrated by Caldecott winner Nonny Hogrogian. Nonny is an American illustrator who works in many styles, in this book she has used parallel lines and cross-hatching to create the figures and the plaid over delicate washes of watercolour. This story was based on a traditional folktale told to Sorche Nic Leodhas (1898-1969) by her grandfather.
ces lignes et l'aquarelle se mélangent harmonieusement
