Claire Softley I

I really like the subtle delicate layering of Claire Softley's work and I love her more autobiographical works like this bottom image which she describes simply with the words:
"My dad keeps chickens, he builds them pens from anything he can find." Claire Softley
"My work takes a playful approach to illustration, I like to use materials that aren’t always easy to control, allowing for happy accidents. Collage, bush and ink, wax crayons and watercolour. I especially like the reductive nature of collage, it forces me to simplify, often blurring the lines between representation and abstraction." Claire Softley
