Thomas Serpa

I find Thomas Serpa's works disturbing, in that they capture and layer the chaos of life onto the page. They are maps of daily existence, not only geographical maps but maps of emotion, fear and tension laid down without any sense of  decorum on scraps of paper in biro, felt tip and tippex.
Thomas's works are about big subjects violence, street gangs, abductions and accidents, important messages scribbled on crumpled scraps of paper.
