This morning we have a master of Chinese painting a block printing Huang Yongyu, I love that prickle of beaks and the crane paintings reminded me of Rob Dunlavey's recent work.
Those are fantastic paintings Hazel! Thank you for the mention too. Lately, I've been reading about Japanese printmaking (19th-20th century) and one of the best books of all: "Kenzan and His Tradition" by Bernard Leach (a history of the artists who virtually invented what we think of as classic Japanese ceramic design and decoration). I've always had a weak spot for this type of art.
This made me smile, thanks. Love the pointing beaks and the owl is so expressive.
