Jillian Tamaki

This project by illustrator Jillian Tamaki is just stunning. Jillian first explored the medium of embroidery by making a Monster Quilt. Then in jest said she wouldn't take any embroidery commissions unless Penguin asked her to do a Penguin Classics Cover.

Well Jillian got what she wished for and has, in collaboration with Penguin's Creative Director Paul Buckley, since produced three book covers for Penguin Classics; Black Beauty, Emma, and The Secret Garden. (Thanks) These books are due for release in October 2011.

  1. They're really beautiful. And it's a great lesson for us isn't it - decide what you want and put it out there!
