Under the canopy

The leaves are turning and so it was wonderful to be surrounded by autumn splendor in Perthshire, an area of Scotland that is a balm for the soul, with its wonderful forests and woodlands.

Time for Magic

I have had just a few days in the West of Scotland which have been quite magical. The weather has been incredible blue sky's and no wind at a time of year when we are free of midges. The wildlife in the ocean is just incredible and I have learnt lots about sea hares and sea potatoes in this rich and fragile environment.

Crying into spiders web handkerchiefs

I have spent much of this weekend working on this drawing. The result of sadness and the joy of early morning walks, observing spider's webs glistening with dew (tears). Hazel Terry

The week ahead

It is going to be a very difficult week ahead for my adopted country, so many hopes and fears, so many different perspectives and ideas.
Yesterday I saw some hopes and dreams, in sharing them I hope for a good week.

Paintings in the sand

It has been a busy weekend and is set to be an immensely busy month, but I wanted to get out into the sun and open spaces and I stole away twice to blue skies and beaches yesterday. This was the sand and coal sand of Pettycure Bay near Kinghorn, Fife yesterday morning. The water was flowing over it as the tide withdrew, pulling at patterns, stretching, layering and distorting them, very beautiful.

Dr Neil's Garden Exhibition

A beautiful daisy spring day, I made it to Duddingston, but not at the right time to see this exhibition, which I have made some pieces for. I made the classic mistake of forgetting to take any pictures of the finished works in the excitement of framing and submitting them.. The bottom image is one of the pictures of work in progress ones that I did take. The works are embroideries that include photo transfers of Dr's Nancy and Andrew Neil. The exhibition is open daily from 2-5pm until the 19th of May.

Aarhus

I just wanted to share some of my favourite images from last weeks fashion show in Aarhus, Denmark. These are all taken behind the scenes, it was exciting and great fun watching what all the students from Aarhus, Malta and Scotland had created and the fun that the models had wearing these creations.
