Marjan Vafaeian
(Above); Elephant in Love with scissors, (Below): I want to make a dress.
(Below) Rain is falling.
This series of 'Boxes' by Marjan Vafaeian, struck a cord because I often fall in love with empty, packaging turning it inside out making it into art like parcels and I love the titles and abstraction of the opened out shapes and interplay of artwork.
Marjan's is also beautifully Iranian work. I don't know what it is about the illustration that comes out of Iran but it has character, colour, pattern, movement and abstraction that I love.

Marjan Vafaeian II
Amazing owl drawings by Marjan Vafaeiyan, made me recall owls by Ben Shahn. I love all of the different drawn effects Marjan has included as ways of rendering the plumage.
