Karlee Rawkins VI

After months of flat out work, today it is time to take stock, breathe, think, and instead of being the hare be the tortoise. I was really pleased to be reminded of Karlee's wonderful work this weekend and explore her portfolio anew. To enjoy her flamboyant marks her layering of pattern and colour, in a contained abstraction.

Karlee Rawkins

Karlee Rawkins has a new exhibition 'The Wild Fox Garden' open at Flinderslane Gallery until April 14th. I love the subtle patterns built into the feathers of these birds plumage.

Deer by Karlee Rawkins

I like the way Karlee's deer grow into there environment and visa vera, there antlers sprout into foliage or their backs develope into thickets, and again the colour is just the tonic needed for the first day of winter.

Karlee Rawkins II

I am hungry for colour again and for me it is like a hunger. So I am revisiting Australian artist Karlee Rawkins with her vibrant colour and exciting visually stimulating style.
